1980 BASIN TV BEFORE THE HONORABLE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS IN AND FOR JEFFERSON COUNTY, STATE OF MONTANA PETITION FOR TELEVISION DISTRICT TO: Jefferson County Board of Commissioners We , the undersigned Petitioners , respectfully petition the Honorable Board as follows : 1 . For the creation and formation of a television District pursuant to the provisions of Title 7 , Chapter 13 , Part 25 , M.C .A. 2 . The objects of the proposed television district are to bring television services to all residents within the Basin Community under a taxes system which would fairly allocate the costs of television service to all users within the community and which would eliminate the expense and difficulty of making individual collections from television users by placing the expense of operation of the district on the assessment list of each user . 3 . The boundaries which are proposed for this television district are the boundaries for Sections 17 and 18 of Township 6 North, Range 5 West, M.P .M. , these being the same boundaries as presently exist for the Basin Fire District, the Basin Lighting District and the Basin County Water and Sewer District. 4 . The approximate number of people to be benefited are between 150 and 200 persons . There are approximately 45 households within the district presently paying television service dues and perhaps 15 or 20 more who have television services but who are not paying for them. 5 . A brief description of the proposed system is to continue using the one presently in existence and now being used. The system is described as follows : (a) KXLF-TV, Channel 4 , Butte, Montana. This is put out on Channel 9 . Transmitter is a Benco, T-1 , 1 watt . Transmitting antenna is a Channel Master , single 5 eliment Yagi on a 30 ' pole . KTVM-TV, Channel 6 , Butte, Montana. This is put out on Channel 11 . Transmitter is Benco , T-1 , 1 watt. Transmitting antenna is a Weingard , 10 eliment Yagi , on a 15 ' mast . (b) Transmitters are located in a 10x10 foot square building located 1080 ' NW of the Post Office in Basin, Montana at 46016 ' 23" North Latitude and 112016 ' 3" West Longitude . (c) The transmitters , antennas , and buildings are valued at $5000. 00 and are insured for that amounty for fire , lightening and vandalism comprehensive coverage . 6. The purposed television district will be conducive to the best interests of the public and will satisfy the public interest, convenience and necessity. 7 .
