RD-BR 2015 01-20 ROAD AND BRIDGE REPORT JANUARY 20, 2015 Present: Commissioners Leonard Wortman, Cory Kirsch and Bob Mullen and Road Supervisor, Rory Parsons, Rory Parsons reviewed the road and bridge report with the Commissioners. Montana City Crew The crew has been plowing snow and sanding roadways. A mail box on Travis Creek was clipped by the plow truck which will be replace in the next few days. Boulder Crew The crew has been winging the snow back from the roadways in the Basin and Elk Park areas. Minor flooding was reported in the Boulder Valley area on Sunday. The dog sled races are not going to be held in the Elk Park area this year. Dustin Rouse stopped to look at hump in the exit, which is located by the job site on Hwy. 69 by the Elk Horn turnoff. The culvert needs to be extended and sloped back another 100 feet. The willows on the west side of the road need to be cut down. Kirsch asked how far the road crew plows up Cataract and Bernice roadways. The crew plows to the first bridge on Cataract road and they plow to the first cattle guard on Bernice road. In the winter months snowmiobilers are the only people who use the Bernice road. Whitehall Crew The previous road supervisor, Joe Carter, purchased gravel from Kip Keim. It has been determined that the county paid for approximately 2200 yards of gravel that is not available for hauling. Parsons will meet with Keim later this week to discuss this issue. Minor flooding was reported in the Milligan Canyon area. The crew has put up warning signs. Lower Valley Road Parsons will be talking with Bob, who works for Bullock Contracting, so he will know exactly what cuts Parsons needs on this roadway. Parsons has also contacted Bushnell for relocates on utilities. Wortman asked Parsons to talk with Compton Ranch about the approach to his driveway. Parsons suggested waiting until the road work has been completed to review this issue. Call Out Gene Olson was called out to sand icy roads in the Montana City area. Fred Feller was called out to put up signs on the Boulder Valley road due to flooding. Pate Auction Pictures were taken of the 4 trucks, old steam cleaner, tire machine and Cataract Fire trailer for the auction booklet. The auction will be held in the next few weeks. Agreement on Sand Parsons will talk with Buster Bullock about signing an agreement to defer payment for sand that the road is purchasing. The sand is sitting in a pit on BLM land and Bullock would like it hauled out of there as soon as possible. LTAP Parsons and two employees will be attending the sign workshop on January 28`h in Great Falls. BIG SKY ACRES HOA Parsons has received emails asking questions about the roads in this area. Parsons would like the Commissioners input on what the county's obligations are on the roads in this area and what options the landowners may have if the county is not obligated to maintain these roads. Mullen agreed to attend a meeting with Parsons and the landowners. The Clerk and Recorder will send Mullen all information of record regarding this subdivision.
