On July 13 a single shot of dust oil will be applied on six miles of road. Boulder Crew The crew has been grading roads and removing fences and hauling gravel on Lower Valley Road. Whitehall Crew The crew finished grading roads last week in the Whitehall area. They are currently working in Boulder on the Lower Valley Road. They will grade Capp Hill Road later this week. Lower Valley Road Project Discussion was held with Giulio regarding the survey discrepancies on the project and what was done on each site. Giulio stated that there are definitely discrepancies between the surveyor and him, however, "the contract required him to produce an as-built but by no means required him to be paid by the as-built." The difference is approximately 2062 yards in volume. Giulio stated that most contracts are paid by estimated quantities. Wortman was of the opinion that it should be paid on the volume. Giulio said he also put in the bench which was not part of the contract but was discussed in the walk through with Parsons. Wortman said he was willing to pay on the volume of 9759, Giulio is requesting to be paid on the estimate of 11,821. Discussion was held regarding the difference in the volume and how to pay Giulio. Kirsch and Mullen agreed to pay Giulio for the volume of 11,821. McCarty Creek Road Kirsch state that Morch Smith will pull out the culvert but that is all he will do. Kirsch asked Parsons to take a look at the road and culvert. Wortman suggested talking with County Attorney, Matt Johnson and John Heide, Chairman of the Conservation District, about the roadway before any decisions are made. Gravel Parsons talked with Nelcon about purchasing their reject gravel. The cost is approximately $3.00 per yard of gravel. Parsons would like to purchase 2000 yards and place it on Bernice Road. Chips Bullock Contracting provided the lowest price on chips. Parsons ordered 1000 yards which will be delivered in August. Mowing The City of Boulder mowed the Boulder airport today. ATTEST: g !'
