RD-RP 1956 0523 UNITED STATES DEPARTMENT OF AGRICULTURE FOREST SERVICE AODRESS REPLY TO FOREST SUPERVISOR ANO REFER TO E ROADS & TRAILS - Deerlodge Bridges May 23, 1956 Butte, Montana County Commissioners Jefferson County Boulder, Montana Dear ~ir: Ranger "il" Graesser has informed us that you have agreed to the trade as proposed on the Galena Gulch and Basin bridges across the Boulder River. This letter is to confirm this agreement. The Forest Service will now assume the responsibility of maintaining a bridge across the Boulder River at Galena Gulch. In the near future the Forest Service plans on constructing a new bridge which will be capable of holding heavy loads. In fact, plans will be to have a new bridge constructed by the fall of 1956. The County now assumes the responsibility of maintaining a bridge across the Bov.lder River at Basin. The present bridge will be considered County property. If at any future time, the County constructs a new bridge, its location may be at any point most convenient and economical to the County. We do not intend to continue the maintenance of the mile or so of road to the old Sunnyside Station. We are deleting this road and the Basin bridge from our transportation system. The Galena Gulch bridge will be added to our ~stem in the place of the Basin bridge. Very sincerely yours, I /' ~l ./) ///. . I/~\.. /f U#-C'#U-.%4'~ OOhn A. Fallman, Forest Supervisor
