RD-BR 2015 09-08 ROAD AND BRIDGE REPORT September 8, 2015 Present: Commissioners: Leonard Wortman, Cory Kirsch and Bob Mullen and Road Supervisor, Rory Parsons. Rory Parsons reviewed the road and bridge report with the Commissioners. Montana City Crew The crew has been grading Lower McClellan Creek and Travis Creek Road. Boulder Crew The crew has been grading Basin Creek Road and will finish the upper end of the road today. Later this week they will grade the Upper Valley Road. Kirsch asked Parsons to look at the rock, which is protruding in the roadway, on Sloane's Lane. Lattin's have called and asked to have the rock removed and dust oil applied to the road. The crew will haul the topsoil, located on Gilmer's land, to the Boulder shop yard. Whitehall Crew This week the crew will mow Yellowstone Trail and grade Daly and Parrot Castle Roadways. Dunn Lane Bridge The cement has been poured and the contractor will let it cure for a few days before the excavator is brought to the site. The beams should be here next week. Millings Schedule Parsons anticipates starting the milling project in the next couple weeks. He will be in contact with Gilman later in the week to set a starting date. Gravel Project The gravel project on Basin Creek Road has been completed. Approximately 880 yards was used out of the pit and 150 yards of gravel that was located in the shop yard. Parsons used the reject gravel he purchased from Deleon. The gravel worked very well on the project and Parsons would like to purchase more from Deleon. Wortman suggested offering two dollars a yard for 10,000 yards. Montana City Job Interviews will be conducted on Thursday morning. Kirsch will look at the applications and participate in the interview process. Culverts The crew will work on the culvert by Franchi's. Someone wrecked their vehicle and damaged the culvert. The crew will dig the culvert out and put a new extension on it. The repairs must be completed before the millings can be applied to the roadway. Rural Maintenance Districts Discussion was held on how best to maintain the rural maintenance district roads in Moonlight Ridge, Martinez Gulch and Jack Mountain Estates. Mullen will set up a meeting with Gruber Excavating to discuss the issue.
