RD-BR 2015 10-20 ROAD AND BRIDGE REPORT October 20,2015 Present: Commissioners: Leonard Wortman, Cory Kirsch and Bob Mullen and Road Supervisor, Rory Parsons. Rory Parsons reviewed the road and bridge report with the Commissioners. Robbins Lane An unsigned letter was received regarding Robbins Lane in Whitehall. Parsons looked at the road yesterday and plans to put two signs on the road. One sign will let the public know that it is a dead end road and the other sign will let the public know that .5 miles of the roadway is non- maintained. Discussion was held on placement of the signs. Montana City Crew The crew has been applying gravel on Saddle Mountain Road and helping the Boulder crew with the milling project. The crew will put in a new culvert on Bridger Road later in the week. Boulder Crew The crew has been busy with the Upper Valley Road milling project. The project should be finished today. Any extra millings will be stockpiled. Parsons plans to put these millings on Basin Creek Roadway next spring. Whitehall Crew The crew has been grading Whitetail Road on the Boulder side and helping the Boulder crew with the milling project. Parsons plans to grade various roads throughout the county next week. The crews will be preparing for the winter season over the next few weeks. Cost Cutters will be trimming trees on Cedar Hills road tomorrow. Kirsch asked Parsons if the county had any areas of concern regarding the dead trees along the roadways. Parsons stated that most of the dead trees were on private lands but when they fall over it is often into the roadway. Kirsch will ask McKelvey if there is any money to help mitigate the dead tree issues. Parsons will buy and stockpile 200 yards of sand from Gruber for the Clancy area this winter. Kirsch asked Parsons if he saw the email regarding people parking along Old Alhambra Road. Kirsch will call the Sheriff's office and have them talk with the owners of the vehicles. Mullen received a request to move the speed limit sign on McClellan Creek Road so it is easier to see. Parsons will review the issue and he may put up a reduced speed ahead sign between the 35 and 25-mile per hour signs to warn drivers to slow down.
