RD-BR 2015 11-03 ROAD AND BRIDGE REPORT November 3, 2015 Present: Commissioners Mullen, Wortman and Kirsch; Rory Parsons,Road Supervisor Rory reported that the Montana City Crew has been grading Clancy Creek Road,helping the Boulder crew haul millings and getting the snow plows ready for winter. The Boulder crew has been installing snow markers,hauling millings from the Gilman pit to the Boulder yard and installing snow fence in Elk Park. The Whitehall crew os grading Paul Gulch and Hot Springs Roads and is also helping to haul millings. Rory said that they have hauled 2020 yards of millings to date from the Gilman pit. Rory stated that the Bozeman paper had an article about the Williams Bridge. The noted that the Gallatin County road supervisor wont' even drive his pickup of the bridge,but the State has is rated at 33 tons. The bridge has a 384 foot span and crosses the Jefferson/Gallatin County line. Fixing the bridge is estimated to be a $4 million project. He said that the Meridan Bridge is also in bad shape and is just a couple miles away; it doesn't make sense to have two multi-million dollar projects that close. Rory said that the crews will be changing back to 5/8s on the 16th Rory reported that there was one call-out on Friday. The Sheriff's Office called Kipp out for a tree on Main Street in Jefferson City. This is a state highway,but Kipp wasn't aware of that.
