1999 - CERTIFICATION OF ABANDONMENT OF ALLEY (2) Certification of Abandonment of Street or Alley in the Town of Whitehall Jefferson County, Montana L the undersigned. being the duly qualified and acting Town Cleddfreasurer of the Town of Whitehall, Jefferson County, State of Montana, do hereby certify and acknowledge that the attached copy is a correct and true copy of the Town of Whitehall Minutes of the May 11th, 1998 Council meeting at which time the Council approved the abandonment of a portion of the northisouth alley described as follows: That portion of the north/south alley platted in Block 1 between Lots 9 and 10 and being 20 feet in width and 150 feet in length. Count c.corder Fee ti _e' • Whitehall Town Council Regular Meeting Monday, May 11th, 1998 Chad Murphy inquired as to whether additional patching will be done. Mayor Davis indicated that there will another job with a hot mix plant near Harrison which the Town would attempt to utilize while it was set up. Department Head Reports Police Department: Topper Giono reported that there was a safety program presented at the school last week, the radio was repaired, there were twelve arrests in the last month, and one stolen vehicle was recovered. Fire Department: Ron Fuller reported that they also participated in the safety fair, teaching the children how to contact 911 in an emergency. Fire Department has volunteered to install signs in rural areas for Enhanced 911. Office: Sue Downs reported that she attended the Municipal Clerks and Treasurers Institute which was very helpful and informative and that she had made a lot of contacts which would be good resources in the future. Pool Committee: Mayor Davis reported that the swimming pool committee had met twice. They reviewed problems at the pool. Another work party has been scheduled to examine the boilers, which are not working, to determine what expenses will be necessary to get the pool opened. Planning Board Recommendations: Recommended granting set-back variance for library addition. Recommended that the Council grant the petition by the Assembly of God Church to vacate north half of north'south alley to 6 First St. East, in Block A between Lots 9 and 10. Recommended that the Council grant the petition of Steve Warmoth to vacate a portion of So. Lincoln Street. Voted to table the zoning permit variance requested by Steve Wagner to build an addition and a carport on a trailer at 200 N. Main due to lack of information. Old Business Kimball'SmithAllev Vacation: Chuck Buus moved to vacate the alley but asked that the Town Attorney ensure that all necessary easements for Town use be stipulated. Francine Stevison seconded the motion. Mayor verified with Jack Morris that proper procedures had been followed. Dennis Smith inquired as to what the easement might entail. Chuck Buus explained that the easement would be for future utilities.
