2017 - 07-05 MINUTES Jefferson County Mental Health Local Advisory Council MINUTES July 5, 2017 ATTENDANCE: Commissioner Bob Mullen, Pam Hanna, Kathy Rux, Molly Carey, Kelly Hanna, Michelle Cuddy, Micky Zurcher, Barb Reiter,and Kenny Bell via telephone. I. CALL TO ORDER:2:04 pm at the Clerk and Recorder's Conference Room. II.AGENDA:The agenda was approved. III.MINUTES: Bob made a motion to approve the minutes from the June 7, 2017 meeting. Kathy seconded the motion.All in favor, motion carried. IV.SUBCOMMITTEE REPORTS: None at this time. V.OLD BUSINESS: a. Budget and Claims: Bob distributed a budget report for the end of the 2016-2017 Fiscal Year.The closing balance is$1250.21. He reported to the council that a check in the amount of$782.60 had been received from the Western Montana Mental Health Center. It is unknown what the funds are for,so Bob will research this to determine its origin and intent. b. Correspondence: There will be a Trauma Informed Peer Support Training in Butte on July 27th. Kelly will try to attend. It is being sponsored by SAMHSA, so there is no registration fee. VI. NEW BUSINESS: a. AMDD Update: Kenny reported that the next AMDD meeting will be held July 12th, so there was nothing new to report at this time. b. AMDD Grant Information: Kenny sent an email that explained the county matching grant information.A copy of the email follows: Hi all,Just passing on the County Matching Grant information that was sent out earlier today by AMDD. See below. The Montana Department of Public Health and Human Services (DPHHS),Addictive and Mental Disorders Division(AMDD)is accepting applications for State Fiscal Year (SFY) 2018 and 2019 for the County and Tribal Matching Grant program. County government representatives, including county commission,county attorney,and county sheriff, and tribal government representatives of federally recognized tribes are eligible to apply for a grant to provide services under this program. All county and tribal applicants desiring consideration for SFY2018 and SFY2019 funding must submit an application, regardless of previous award.The attached zip folder contains the application package including detailed instructions, you may also access the complete County and Tribal Matching Grant application online at htto://dphhs.mt.gov/amdd.The deadline for submission of County and Tribal Matching Grant applications is August 4, 2017. Applications may be mailed via hardcopy to: Helen Higgins, 100 N. Park Avenue, Suite 300, Helena, MT 59601 and be postmarked by midnight;or submitted electronically using the AMDD secure email address at HHSAMDDMHSPwaiverOmt.gov. Contracts will be awarded around August 31, 2017. Please contact Helen Higgins at hhiggins(g7mt.gov or 406-444-3055 with questions. Bob suggested creating a sub-committee to research potential grants. Members of the sub- committee will be Bob, Michelle, Micky, and possibly Millie. c. Upcoming Events:The Whitehall Frontier Days will be held in Whitehall on July 29th. Bob has a banner for display. Molly will get pamphlets to Pam fora resource directory. Kelly, Pam, Bob, and Barb will be available to attend the festivities on behalf of the MHLAC. d. Mental Health Workshop: Barb reported that she was able to secure two seats for this workshop. Kathy and Barb will attend on behalf of the MHLAC.They will check with Bonnie to determine method of payment. Bob said there are funds available to cover expenses incurred. VII. PUBLIC COMMENT: Micky reported that she is still working on the national guide discussion with the MHLAC. She would like to schedule a two hour meeting with the council. Pam and Barb will be presenting the ACEs training in the early fall,so there will be time set aside in November for Micky's presentation. VIII.NEXT MEETING: The next regular meeting has been scheduled for August 2, 2017 at 2:00 pm in the Conference Room of the Clerk and Recorder's Building in Boulder.
