DEPT HEAD 2019 01-29 GIS GIS REPORT January 29, 2019 Present:Commissioners: Leonard Wortman, Cory Kirsch, and Bob Mullen, Melissa Morris, GIS Coordinator Discussion was held regarding the purchase of the Vinyl cutter for the GIS department. The cost of the machine was$2,999. This machine will be used to create road signs for the county. The machine is a 42 inch machine. Right now Melissa is using 6 inch vinyl. She will be doing signs for the Fair. Also she would be doing signs for the "Walk your City". She will make the signs after LaDana and Connie Grenz get the information to her. Melissa will order different colors/backs. She is also looking at corrugated plastics for signs. For the Road/Disaster area she could make reusable signs that say fire,washout, road close,etc. In case of fires/disaster in the county, she said they can make signs that show the primary and secondary evacuation routes. Melissa and the Commissioners discussed using the machine to creating the signs for the County vehicles. She said that she should be able to do that after more practice on the software. Stated this should be fully functional by April or May. She is working on the Boundary/Annexation evaluation for the Census. Melissa stated she does not have Boundary information for Whitehall and not a completed one for Boulder. Melissa discussed making Web Changes. She is going to meet with someone Thursday,January 31,to discuss hiring them as a consultant to help redesign the look and helping with the coding.
