DEPT HEAD 2019 03-26 PAYNE WEST INSURANCE MEETING Payne West Insurance Meeting March 26,2019 Present: Commissioners - Leonard Wortman and Cory Kirsch, and Alyssa Creighton and Susan Tangmo from Payne West. Absent: Commissioner Bob Mullen Alyssa asked the Commission what works with our current insurance provider and what doesn't work. Wortman explained that the county is concerned with the cost of insuring a spouse or family on our current plans. It is difficult for the employees to pay for this type of coverage. Alyssa asked if the county receives information on how our rates are determined? Insurance company's does not necessarily need health statements from the employees in order to provide a bid for health insurance. They can get a lot of information from prescription data that will provide them with an indicator of what the health claims will be. Kirsch stated that he would like to put together a board to look at insurance options. Alyssa said they can give the county information so that we will know what you are looking at and it may give you more information on vetting a new plan as well as our current plan. Wortman asked if any quotes provided to the county would also list a couple of deductible options. The county would be interested in looking at deductibles of$2700 and $5000. Alyssa stated that a list of options will be provided. Payne West can provide the employees with a paycheck calculator report that will show the employees the cost that the county pays for all their benefits. ATTEST: 7L_ .
