RD-BR 2019 08-06 ROAD AND BRIDGE REPORT August 6,2019 Present: Commissioners: Leonard Wortman, Cory Kirsch and Bob Mullen, Road Supervisor, Rory Parsons. Rory Parsons reviewed the road and bridge report with the Commissioners. Minutes No minutes were presented for approval. Montana City Crew The crew has been mowing on Highway 282. They have a water truck with them at all times in case of fire. Parsons will not have the crew mow anymore grass until the weather cools down. Mullen asked Parsons to have the hole filled that Bud Siderits is calling about. Parsons talked with Ed Zitnik and he told him that this particular piece of the road always has a hole when we have a wet spring. Parsons will fill the hole with millings. Hattersley told Parsons that a culvert above Wickes was put in but someone dug it up and stole the culvert. Parsons has some pipe laying around that he will use to replace the culvert. He will talk with Hattersley about spreading the ditch out. Boulder Crew The crew has been cleaning culverts and ditches. They have been having lots of trouble with beaver dams by Hot Springs and Whitetail Roads. The beavers have also built dams in Elk Park. The crew will work with the Montana City crew on the Corbin and Wickes Road projects. Whitehall Crew Gillespie made a"vandal proof' sign for Meridian/Jewett Lane. The crew is prepping for the chip sealing projects. There is no drainage on Sheep Camp Road. The only way to fix this roadway is to haul fill in and redo the road. Signs have been placed on the roadway. Parsons received a complaint that the sign was gone on Nez Perce Road. The wind blew the sign off and Parsons had the crew put the sign up again. Sheep Mountain Road Parsons has been working on relocating the roadway. They will haul fill in today. Parsons met with Cirillo and told him that he has to agree that the road is in the right place before he pulls the crew out of the area. Pinecrest Sign Ayers called Kirsch and stated that someone is moving or.taking signage on the roadway. No one seems to know who put the signs up. Kirsch was told that Cromrich put up the signs. Mullen asked if anyone knew why the signs are upsetting people? Job Positions The administrative position is open. Boline stated she did not have enough work to do to occupy her time. Parsons told her if she ran out of things to do let him know as he had projects to keep her busy. Boline did not tell Parsons she did not have work to do. Several applications have been received for the Montana City road crew position. Courthouse Parking Lot The parking lot in front of the courthouse will be chip sealed. The area will need to be patched and broomed again before they finish the project. Parsons will be gone for the rest of the week.
