RES 1960 POOR TAX RE50LUTION PER CAPITA TAX FOR POOR FUND (Sec. 71-•106) It appearing that the cash for the poor and indigent persons has become depleted be.- causes of large hospital and doctor bills, and medicines for the indigent persons to such an extent that the present six (6) mill levy cannot tape care of the needs of the poor; that it was impossible to budget enough reserve last year, and it will be impossible to budget enough next year (1961) with only the six (6) mill levy to take care of the poor and indigent personas. That the expenses incurred during the past few years for hospitalization, doctor bills, drugs, and other poor fund expenses has increased to such an extent that the Poor Fund Cash has been greatly decreased, and the :six (6) mill levy is not sufficient to take care of the needs of the poor, and that a poll tax of $2.00 from each resident of the county between the ages of twenty -one (21) and sixty (60) years is absolutely necessary for the county to care for it's poor and indigent persons.
