RES 1986-15 SALARIES FOR COUNTY EMPLOYEES t ` RESOLUTION NO. 15 -86 WHEREAS, Jefferson County is in the process of formulating a personnel policy and procedures manual which will include salary schedules, job descriptions and provisions for pay increases, and WHEREAS, implementation of this policies and procedures manual does not appear likely until fiscal year 1987, and WHEREAS, there does not appear to be any current uniform policy in effect for salaries and raises for Jefferson County employees, and WHEREAS, it is the intent of this resolution to establish an interim salary and raise policy which will remain in effect only until such time as a policies and procedures manual classifying employees and salaries is established, WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners has approved a resolution that all County employees, except for elected officials and deputies, shall receive monthly paychecks for work performed on an hourly basis, NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that, for the specific purpose of providing an interim policy upon which employees may rely relative to salaries and raises, the following salary schedules and employee classifications shall remain in effect for fiscal year 1986/1987: (for all employees of Jefferson County except those individuals covered by a collective bargaining contract, individuals on a contracted services basis, and elected officials and deputies) Resolution No. 15 -86 Z Full -time Employees (those employees who work 40 hours per week) Starting wage: Annual Salary Hourly Salary Class I High school graduates $10,800 - 12,600 $5.19 to $6.06 Class II High school graduates $12,600- 14,400 $6.06 to $6.92 with 5 years experience in related field After 90 days of employment, employee's job performance shall be reviewed by supervisor. After 6 months of employment, employee's job performance shall be reviewed by supervisor; employee shall receive a 3% salary increase contingent upon a favorable evaluation. Class III College Graduate with $14,400+ /annual $6.92+ /hour degree in related field Base salary increases up to 6 months from date of employment are negotiable. Longevity: after 5 years of employment, employee's annual base salary shall be increased by $600.00. Part -time Employees $4.00 per hour BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that all prior resolutions in conflict herewith are superceded by this resolution. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that, in order to implement these salary schedules prior to the adoption of the fiscal year 1987 budget so that the same may be anticipated in the county budgets, the Board of County Commissioners hereby deems this resolution to be an emergency measure, immediately necessary for the protection and benefit of the county and its employees.
