RES 1984-04 JAIL BONDS Book 28 Misc. page 792 RESOLUTION NO. 4~ * y RESOLUTION CALLING FOR ELECTION REGARDING THE ISSUANCE OF GENERAL OBLIGATION BONDS FOR A JAIL -LAW ENFORCEMENT FACILITY. WHEREAS, Jefferson County has the authority to construct and equipment a jail -law enforcement facility; and WHEREAS, Section 7 -7 -2201, MCA, authorizes the Board of County Commissioners to issue, neg and sell coupon;bonds on the credit of the county for the purpose of constructing, repairing and equipping public buildings; and WHEREAS, a petition has been filed with the election administra- tor calling for the county commissioners to submit to the qualified electors the question of whether the Board of County Commissioners shall be authorized to issue general obligation bonds for the following purpose: To provide funds to be used to design, construct and equip a new jail -law enforcement facility to be owned by Jefferson County; and WHEREAS, the estimate of the amount necessary to be issued for such purpose set forth in the petition is Nine Hundred Thousand Dollars ($900,000.00); and WHEREAS, in accordance with Section 7 -7-2225, MCA, the election administrator has examined the petition and attached her certificate thQreto showing: 1. That the total number of individuals who are registered electors in Jefferson County is 4,379. 2. That the number of individuals whose names are subscribed to the petition who possess all of the qualifications required of signers of such a petition is 924; 3. That the qualified signers constitute more than twen �r-c e�Mrt (2.0 %) of the. registered electors of Jefferson County; and WHEREAS, the election administrator delivered the certified petition to the Board of County Commissioners on the 1st day of August, 1984; and ~ Book 28 Misc. page 793 WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners has carefully examined and investigated the petition; and WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners finds that the petition is in proper form, that it bears the requisite number of signers of qualified petitioners and that it is in all other respects sufficient, NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of County Commissioners of Jeff erson'County,'State of Montana, as follows: 1. The Board of County Commissioners of Jefferson County has received a petition in proper form asking the Board of County Commissioners to submit to the qualified electors of the county the question of whether the Board of County Commissioners shall be authorized to issue general obligation bonds for the purposes herein stated. 2. The purposes for which the bonds are to be issued are: to provide funds to be used to design, construct and equip a new jail -law enforcement facility to be owned by Jefferson County. 3. The exact amount of bonds proposed to be issued for said purposes is Nine Hundred Thousand Dollars ($900,000.00). 4. The number of years through which the bonds are to be paid shall be twenty (20) years. 5. The question of whether such bonds should be issued shall be submitted to the registered electors of Jefferson County at the next general election on the 6th day of November, 1984. 6. The election shall be held and conducted in accordance with the laws of the State of Montana, for such purpose. 7. The election administrator of Jefferson County is hereby authorized and directed, pursuant to Section 7 -7 -2229, MCA, to give separate notice of such election and to conduct such election in accordance with the election laws of the State of Montana.
