RES 1981-21 EMERGENCY 2 MILL ROAD RES0LUTI ON N0.41_ BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF JEFFERSON COUNTY, STATE OF MONTANA WHEREAS, the flooding conditions of the Memorial Day Week -end (May 22, and 23, 1981) have caused so much extensive damage to all roads and bridges throughout the County of Jefferson, and WHEREAS, Title 10, Chapter 3, Part 405, allows for levying an emergency tax of not to exceed a 2 mill levy, and WHEREAS, the County Road and.Bridge Funds are nea -rly depleated - or soon will ti be as a result of the costs of repairing the many bridges, culverts and roads throughout the County from all areas, and WHEREAS, the need of transportation is essential to the order of business and, WHEREAS, the cost of repairs will be staggering, and a.re absolutely essential, NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: That in accordance to the above Statute, the Board of County Commissioners of Jefferson do hereby declare that an Emergency State exists throughout the County of Jefferson and it is necessary to levy a 2 mill emergency tax on all rural land within the county to defray costs of reconstruction from resulting from flood damage. Be it Further Resolved: that all revenues collected from said emergeney levy will be used as per the statute and shall remain in a separate account for stated purposes only: Dated at Boulder, Montana this 26th day of May, 1981.
